Residential Assisted Living

Residential Assisted Living

We provide a safe, welcoming, and comfortable place for your loved ones to call home. Situated on 23 acres overlooking the Susquehanna River and Broad Creek in northern Harford County, we are licensed to house 16 residents. We’re essentially one big family where everyone knows everyone else.

With a variety of rooms to choose from, both private and semi-private, as well as a spacious covered patio and deck, we like to think of ourselves as an assisted living home rather than a “facility.” That’s because we’re set up more like a comfortable and cozy home than a medical facility. Our residents and their family members agree.

We can put you in touch with families who can tell you about their experience with Broad Creek Manor. You may also want to check out our Testimonials page to see what families think about the service we provide.

Highly Trained Staff

Our personnel are highly trained to focus on assisting residents with activities of daily living while encouraging independence. Our smaller assisted living facility with a low resident-to-staff ratio enables us to provide individualized care to help your loved one live comfortably and safely. In addition to our 24/7 staffing, we have an RN on call, a visiting nurse practitioner, a visiting podiatrist, and more.

Twice a year, the assisted living manager and medical providers will review your loved one’s personalized care plan, and update it as needed to ensure the highest quality of care.

Memory Care

For our residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, we provide individual memory care plans tailored to their needs and personalities. Our staff gets to know your loved one and treats them calmly and kindly and practices techniques to help them cherish memories from long ago. You can rest assured they’re getting the care they need in a safe and welcoming environment.

Rehabilitation Services

In addition to medication management and regular health checkups, we also provide residents with on-site rehabilitation services. These include physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, as prescribed by a doctor. The goal is to help your loved one regain range of motion and speech capabilities to they can be as active, independent, and engaged as possible.

Respite Care

In addition to providing long-term assisted living for full-time residents, we provide short-term respite care for caregivers. If you’re the caregiver of an aging parent or other senior, you need time to take care of yourself as well. Whether you need to travel, you need to schedule or recover from surgery, or you simply need a break, you can schedule respite care for anywhere from one week to one month. Respite care can also be a chance for your loved one to “test drive” residential assisted living.

Dining

You are what you eat. Unfortunately, due to loss of appetite or a changing sense of taste, some seniors don’t eat a healthy diet at home. That’s why we provide nutritionist-approved meals that appeal to the eyes as well as the taste buds. Everything is home-cooked in our kitchen, using fresh ingredients. And of course, dessert is also on the menu to satisfy the sweet tooth!

Activities

We have a wide range of options for activities for residents to engage their minds, bodies, and souls. Cooking clubs, gardening clubs, spiritual activities, group fitness, games, crafts, and daily assisted living activities are all designed with each individual resident in mind. Some of our special group activities include the Senior Prom, visiting car shows, salon day, and more.
